Style Tips & More Information
Before each photo session, clients often ask me "what should I wear to the session?" Well, that's a really great question. I used to just answer with "whatever makes you feel comfortable;" realizing now, this isn't the easist answer to process.
Now's the time to splurge on those bright yellow heels you've been eyeing, or that maxi dress from Anthropologie you've been looking for an excuse to buy. If you're love your solid, taupe-colored dress, deck it out with an extrordinary necklace, or some stacked bangle bracelets.
Guys, I'm not forgetting about you! Try a fitted button up shirt and add a blazer, or a hat that you love (absolutely no baseball hats, though!). Maybe a pair of suspenders, or a neat little bow tie. Whatever makes you feel cool and confident!
No-nos: Baggy shirts/pants/shorts, tennis shoes/sneakers, polo shirts, and shirts with logos. Of course there are always exceptions, but this isn't an advertisement for your favorite band or beer.
Ladies, I would suggest if you are doing a make-up trial with your makeup artist, do it on the same day as your engagement photo session. Being dolled up will add extra confidence and make you feel more ready to be photographed.
Bring an extra outfit in the case your first outfit gets dirty. We don't want to limit our photos and avoid the outdoors, so getting dirty may be inevitable.
And last, confidence is king. The more confident you are, the better your photos will be. So dress to impress, and always ask me for suggestions if you aren't 100% sure on your choices!
